Elmo's Learning Fun Laptop is an electronic learning aid that helps preschoolers learn numbers, colors, shapes and letters of the alphabet through character phrases and music. The laptop includes four double-sided cards that kids can insert into the screen. Each side of the cards offers a different scene and curriculum. Kids can open the laptop to hear a fun tune; and another tune plays as each card is inserted. Laptop features two modes: identify and quiz mode. When not in use, cards slide into the storage area, which keeps them safely in place. Press the quiz button for questions and prompts relating to the pictures on the screen. (Also watch Elmo's eyes move from left to right when the button is pressed!) Requires 3 "AA" and 3 "AAA" batteries, included. Measures 9.25"H x 7.75"W x 7.5"L.

Disappointment with Fisher-Price
»
I have loved Fisher-Price toys for years. When my children were growing up, they were the best. I ordered this for my granddaughter for her birthday. We unpacked it. It was so cute and I believe it would be educational if it had worked. The demo card worked, but nothing else. We loved it and my daughter wanted me to send it back and order another one. Well, guess what!! The second one was the same as the first. The demo card worked, but not the other cards. I didn't want to try for three, so I ordered a V-Tech toy instead. It works, even tho it is not quite as cute.

My two-year-old loves it
»
My two-year-old got thid toy as a birthday gift. He is a ELMO fan and he loves this toy. This has been his favorite toy for several months. We didn't have problems with the cards. It teaches numbers, colors, shapes and letters and simple phrases. Overall, this is a cute and fun laptop toy for 2-year-olds.

Cute toy!
»
Got it for my 2 year old's birthday. So far the only thing negative I will say about it is the "screen" half is a bit top heavy. Other than that it is great for an Elmo lover

good toy for little ones
»
We ordered this after we read lots of confliting reviews. We called Fisher Price, who assured us it is not being discontinued at this time and they would happily replace it should we have any problems. Our daughter who was turning two wanted a "computer" so bad so she could be like her big sister.
she also likes elmo. We looked at others and decided this one was the most age appropriate for her. She really likes it. The only problem we have had is changing the cartrages. We have to turn the thing off so it will reset or it won't read correctly. Over all I think its pretty good for young children. It is durable, portable, and entertaining. We like it.

Very good, but...

This is a great educational toy laptop. The only problem is that it was designed so that when opened for use it doesn't stand on its own. The screen section has to be propped against something to allow it to be used like mom or dad's lap top.
